Here are the top five stories in Sachem today:

  1. The two Manorville teenagers who were missing in New York City were found unharmed on Tuesday. Vincent Abolafia and his girlfriend, Kaileigh Catalano, both 15, were found in Manhattan. They were missing since Thursday. (Patch)
  2. A group of Long Islanders entered Target in Commack Target without masks to protest the new New York State mandate. The governor's new requirement began Monday, but Long Island leaders say they will not aggressively enforce it. (News 12)
  3. A new Island Empanadas has opened in Oakdale. This location will be the first to serve beer, wine and sangria. (Patch)
  4. Two Suffolk men were arrested for a string of 7-Eleven armed robberies. The spree began on Oct. 24, and included 7-Eleven in East Patchogue, Holla Dollar in Bellport, 7-Eleven in Ridge and others. Marcus Brown, 33, of Coram, and Jvon Creighton, 26, of Mastic, were arrested. (Patch)
  5. E&M Logistics Inc. is planning a new headquarters and warehouse for Haagen-Dazs ice cream, as well as Tombstone and DiGiorno frozen pizza products in Hauppauge. (Patch)

  • A United States soldier, Staff Sgt. Jay, rescued two abandoned puppies he found while deployed overseas. He is hoping to relocate the two dogs to safety in the United States with the help of Nesconset nonprofit, Paws of War. (Patch)
  • The Patchogue Chamber of Commerce “30 Days of Dining” raffle is running from now until Dec. 31. There's a chance to win one of two gift baskets filled with over 30 gift certificates from more than 30 Patchogue restaurants. Winners will be announced at Patchogue’s Midnight on Main Street New Year's event. (Greater Patchogue)
