Sachem East High School Cheer Team Claims 2nd Consecutive State Championship

FARMINGVILLE, NY — The Sachem High School East varsity cheerleading team clinching a state Class A championship title for the second year in a row, school district officials said.

The team showed "remarkable dedication, skill, and determination, outperforming elite competitors from across the state," under the leadership of head coach Victoria Aghabekian, according to the district.

Aghabekian expressed her pride, saying she is "extremely proud" of the team, which "has worked incredibly hard all season and performed their best against the top teams in New York.”

Sachem East’s back-to-back championship titles are a testament to their relentless work ethic and unwavering commitment to excellence, and the "achievement not only cements their legacy within the program but also sets a high standard for future athletes," district officials said.
