Sachem School District Adds 3 Additional Days Off
The school district has made scheduling changes as a result of not closing for snow days.
The Sachem Central School District announced it will close school three times and make other schedule changes this year as a result of not using any snow days.
School will be closed on Thursday, April 18, Thursday May 23 and Tuesday, May 28.
Elementary school students will have half days on June 25 and 26.

The last full day of school for staff will be June 26.
"We are now officially in spring, and this year’s relatively mild winter resulted in very few snow events impacting our area. As a result of this year’s weather patterns, we did not need to close school on any days for a weather related event,"Superintendent Kenneth E. Graham said in a letter to parents.

If there is a school closing from now until spring recess, school will remain open for an instructional day on April 18, Graham said.
