Sachem Students Visited By Local Fire Departments

In honor of Fire Prevention Month, this October students across the Sachem Central School District were visited by local fire departments to learn about fire safety and how to remain safe in an emergency situation.

As part of the districtwide presentations, firefighters performed numerous demonstrations showcasing department vehicles such as ambulances, fire engines and ladder trucks. Additionally, students viewed tools and equipment used by firefighters in emergencies.

Concluding these informational visits, firefighters held Q&A sessions with students to answer any additional questions.
