Star Student Athlete: Sachem's Logan Shines Off The Field

SACHEM, NY — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.

This submission comes from Tina Edler who nominated her son, Logan, of Sachem.

Logan plays football and baseball while maintaining a 4.o GPA. He learned to be a team player at five years old and his positivity is always impressive. He also never backs down and knows how to rise in the face of adversity.

Logan has been part of a team since he was 5 and that taught him early on that he loved to be part of a team.

As a student athlete, Logan learned how to manage his time with early morning workouts and evening routines. He is always present. His ability to handle failure is impressive. His competitive nature kicks in whenever there is a setback and that drives him to be better next time. It is a big commitment as a student athlete and Logan has accepted that contract.

He is always there for his coaches and teammates. His positivity and teamwork always impresses me. No matter how bad the loss, he knows tomorrow is another chance to make it better.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?

Logan works hard every day. He has maintained a 4.0 GPA all through high school, and when he is not in the books, he is on the field. When he is not on the field, he is working out.
