Stop & Shop Employees Provide Holiday Gifts to Long Island Families

Donation a Part of Family & Children's Association's Annual Adopt-a-Family Program

More than 400 Stop & Shop store managers and associates from 46 stores across Long Island provided holiday gifts to 50 Long Island families as part of Family & Children’s Association’s annual Adopt-a-Family program. The Stop & Shop associates and representatives of Family & Children’s Association gathered at the Carle Place Stop & Shop to load the gifts onto a truck, which transported the holiday gift items to FCA for distribution to the families.

During Adopt-a-Family Stop & Shop personnel ‘adopt’ local families through Family & Children Association. The Stop & Shop employees each personally fund the donation of warm coats, hats, gloves, toys, and infant necessities to families who may be struggling during the holiday season. Stop & Shop stores also give gift cards to the parents, allowing them to provide other holiday necessities to their children.

“We’re incredibly thankful to our community partners like Stop & Shop for their continued support,” said Paige O’Brien, Chief Development Officer & Vice President of Strategic Advancement at FCA. “It’s because of their generosity and that of their associates, that our clients get to experience the true meaning of the holiday season.”
