Suffolk Man Caught Texting Behind Wheel On Long Island Expressway Had 31 Suspensions: PD
He had 31 suspensions over 13 dates, police say.
HOLBROOK, NY — A Suffolk County man caught texting behind the wheel on the Long Island Expressway in Holbrook on Tuesday had 31 license suspensions over 13 dates, police said.
A Highway Patrol officer saw Wayne Lowe texting and not wearing a seatbelt while driving a 2002 Ford F-350 on eastbound Long Island Expressway off-ramp at exit 60 just after 11 a.m., and upon further investigation, the suspensions were discovered, according to police.
Lowe, 29, of Center Moriches, was issued multiple summonses and was charged with one count of
first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, police said.

The vehicle was impounded, according to police.
Lowe was originally scheduled to be held overnight at the 6th Precinct in Selden but he was ultimately released on a Desk Appearance Ticket to appear at court on a later date, police said Wednesday.
