Suspect In Stony Brook Fatal Stabbing Outside Yacht Club Waives Extradition Right In North Carolina: Sheriff
Stokes County Sheriff Joey Lemons called Victor Panebianco's arrest "seamless cooperation" between his investigators and Suffolk police.

STOKES COUNTY, NC — A suspect in the slaying of Christopher Millwater outside a Long Island yacht club has waived his extradition, and is being held in the custody of the Stokes County Sheriff's office while he waits to be transported to New York, a spokeswoman for the department said Tuesday.
Victor Panebianco has reportedly been named as a suspect in connection with the stabbing death of Millwater on Nov. 10 at the Stony Brook Yacht Club, authorities said. Prosecutors allege Panebianco was with Millwater's ex-girlfriend, Kacy Corso, when she used her vehicle to ram Millwater's, preventing his escape, and Panebianco then chased Millwater down and stabbed him multiple times, according to published reports.
Panebianco was arrested at his home in King, NC, on Nov. 19 and he is being held at the Stokes County Jail as a fugitive from New York, according to the department's spokeswoman.

In a statement, Stokes County Sheriff Joey Lemons commended "the seamless cooperation" between Stokes County investigators and Suffolk police detectives, saying that it led to "the safe and efficient apprehension of a wanted homicide suspect.”
The sheriff’s office was contacted by detectives from Suffolk's police department regarding a homicide suspect believed to be residing in Stokes County, according Lemons.
Suffolk detectives advised the suspect, who was identified as Panebianco, was living in a home on Red Kirby Road in King, NC, and upon receiving this information, investigators with the sheriff’s office's criminal investigations and special investigations divisions coordinated with the detectives "to develop a plan to safely locate and apprehend" him, Lemons said.
Stokes County investigators conducted surveillance on Panebianco's home and confirmed he was present, and detectives from both the counties responded to Red Kirby Road, where Panebianco was seen outside the home, according to Lemons.
Officers moved in and took Panebianco into custody "without incident," Lemons said.
After his arrest, detectives executed a search warrant at the home, along with a Fugitive from Justice Warrant, related to the homicide investigation in New York, and during the search, investigators found "potential evidence connected to the ongoing criminal case, according to Lemons.
Corso has been held at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility without bail, court records show.
Her attorney, Christopher Gioe of Hauppauge, said that she "has vehemently denied any involvement in the stabbing incident and has not admitted to the charges."
"On her behalf, we have entered a plea of not guilty," he said. "We are committed to conducting a thorough investigation into this matter and defending our client zealously."
She is due back in court on Dec. 9.
