Suspect Thwarted While Trying To Use Fake Rifle In LI Liquor Store Hold-Up Flees Empty-Handed: PD
A clerk was treated at a local hospital for a non-life-threatening injury after a struggle, Suffolk police say.
HOLTSVILLE, NY — A suspect used an imitation rifle to rob a liquor store in Holtsville but was thwarted in a struggle on Tuesday night, Suffolk police said.
A man holding an imitation rifle went inside Akshan Wine and Liquor on Waverly Avenue at around 7:45 p.m., and demanded money from the counter clerk, police said. An altercation ensued, and he bolted from the store empty-handed, police added.
The clerk was treated at a local hospital for a minor injury, police said.
