Women’s clothing retailer New York and Company, where the leaks were first reported, sustained the worst of the damage according to Taub.
The mall was evacuated on Monday after roof leaks in several stores became a cause of concern likely due to wet snow on the mall roof. Fire officials began by closing the Lifestyle wing of the mall at 2 p.m., where New York and Company is located, as a precaution. By 4 p.m. Monday, officials decided to evacuate and close the entire mall. Approximately 25 stores have been damaged by water.
