WATCH: 2 Escaped Horses Join Morning Commute On Expressway

The two loose horses were escorted to safety by Suffolk police cars after they were spotted trotting on the LIE service road in Holtsville.

HOLTSVILLE, NY — There were two unusual commuters during Wednesday morning's Long Island Expressway rush hour. Two loose horses were spotted along Express Drive North near exit 62 in Holtsville around 7:25 a.m., the Suffolk County Police Department said.

The escaped horses were tailed by squad cars from Suffolk's Sixth Precinct until they could be rounded up. Suffolk police said they were safely returned to their owners, whose names were not released.
