Woman Arrested After Robbing Holbrook Bank: Police

HOLBROOK, NY – A 42-year-old woman was arrested after she robbed a Holbrook bank Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Michele Atkinson entered the Bank of America located at 4400 Veterans Memorial Highway approached a teller and presented a note demanding cash at about 2:35 p.m., Suffolk Police said.

The teller complied and Atkinson, of Bohemia, fled in a black car.

Fifth Precinct officers responded and Officer Arkadiusz Janczurewicz located and arrested Atkinson in a parking lot behind 5181 Sunrise Highway in Bohemia a short time later, police said.

Major Case Unit detectives charged Atkinson with third degree robbery. She will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
