SAYVILLE, NY — A pedestrian was injured in a train strike east of the Long Island Railroad station in Sayville early Friday, Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials said.
The person was struck just after midnight, and then taken to a local hospital for treatment, an MTA spokesperson told Patch on Saturday.
The incident was first reported on Twitter, alerting LIRR riders to delays on the Montauk Branch.
