Academy Street Students Learn About The Library
Students at Academy Street Elementary School in the Bayport-Blue Point School District learned to navigate the library.
BAYPORT-BLUE POINT — Fourth graders at Academy Street Elementary School in the Bayport-Blue Point School District learned the ins and outs of their school’s library through an engaging library scavenger hunt.
Students were broken into groups and given a checklist. Each group’s checklist held a different set of criteria for students to follow. For instance, students were asked to find a book by a particular author and write the title, find a series of books and count how many were in the series, find the non-fiction section and look for a book about a particular topic and more.
Once each group finished the tasks on their sheet, they unlocked information on who their special guest reader would be.
