The Bayport-Blue Point boys lacrosse team is one win away from the team’s first state title following its 9-8 win over Bronxville Wednesday night.
The victory puts the Phantoms in Saturday’s New York State Class C title game where they will play the winner of the Cazenovia/Silver Creek game, which was also played Wednesday night. The state title game is set for Saturday, 4 p.m. at Cicero-North Syracuse High School in Syracuse.
Bayport-Blue Point’s victory Wednesday night was its third in a row. The Phantoms topped on June 1 to capture the Suffolk County Class C title. On Saturday, Bayport-Blue Point outscored Nassau County Class A champ in the second half en route to a 13-6 victory and the Long Island Class C title.
