Emergency Drill To Be Held At Sayville Ferry Terminal: Police

Residents are advised to avoid the area during the exercise, police say.

SAYVILLE, NY — An emergency response drill will take place at the Sayville Ferry Terminal and nearby waterways on Thursday, Nov. 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Suffolk.

Suffolk County Police say traffic restrictions will be in effect on Foster Avenue, Terry Street, River Road, and Browns River Road during the exercise. While access to homes and businesses will not be restricted, police are encouraging the public to avoid the area if possible.

The large-scale training exercise will simulate a mass casualty ferry incident involving more than 70 mock patients and will include coordinated efforts between multiple emergency response agencies.
