Sayville Schools Welcome Students For 2025-2026 School Year
Students Arrive for First Day Ready to Learn
With a palpable buzz of excitement, students across the Sayville Union Free School District returned to school on Thursday, September 4, for the official start of the 2025–2026 academic year. From the youngest learners at the elementary schools to the high school seniors, students were met by administrators and staff who had been preparing for weeks to welcome them back.
"The first day of school is the culmination of all our planning and preparation, and it’s wonderful to see our students' faces light up as they reconnect with their friends and teachers," said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Marc Ferris. "This year, we continue to focus on fostering an environment where every student feels loved, supported, and inspired to learn. We are certainly ready for a year filled with caring and learning for every child."
Students in grades pre-K through 12 were welcomed back by Dr. Ferris, members of the Sayville Board of Education, and building administrators. The hallways of Cherry Avenue, Lincoln Avenue, and Sunrise Drive Elementary Schools, as well as Sayville Middle School and Sayville High School, were filled with smiling faces, ready to embark on another year of learning and new challenges.
