Sayville, William Floyd AP Research Students Join Forces For Peer Mentoring Conference
Students from both districts presented proposals, exchanged feedback, and strengthened research skills.
SAYVILLE, NY — Sayville High School’s Advanced Placement Research cohort welcomed AP Research students from William Floyd High School on Nov. 21, for a collaborative peer-mentoring conference designed to sharpen research skills and build academic connections.
Sayville juniors spent the day presenting their project proposals, receiving feedback, and participating in guided discussions with their visitors from Mastic Beach. Students who have already completed the AP Research program also returned to offer insights, tips, and firsthand advice as this year’s cohort works toward the April 30, 2026, submission deadline.
“This event offered a unique opportunity for our students to learn directly from peers who have successfully navigated the rigorous process of earning the AP Capstone designation,” Sayville High School Principal Stephanie Bricker said. “Their shared experiences and mentorship are invaluable as this year’s cohort advances through the research cycle.”
