Sayville's Parkville Plaza Deli Reopens After Over 2 Years, After Fire
The deli on Lakeland Ave. spent two-and-a-half years rebuilding after an electrical fire in October 2019, reopening in mid-April.

SAYVILLE, NY — In April, Parkville Plaza Deli in Sayville has reopened after a two-and-a-half-year closure due to an electrical fire that gutted the business in October 2019.
The delicatessen at 154 Lakeland Ave. posted the news on its Facebook page on April 15.
"We are excited to announce that after 2.5 looooong years, Parkville Plaza Deli is finally back open for business. Hope to see you all."

Almost 90 commenters offered well wishes on the post. The business thanked the Sayville community in an earlier post announcing the rebuilding of the deli was beginning in 2020.
"We would like to thank the entire Sayville and surrounding communities for their continued support and patience during the closure."

No one was seriously injured in the 2019 fire, sparked by a storm. Fire departments from Sayville, West Sayville and Holbrook were able to contain the fire to only the deli.
