
Town of Brookhaven residents get a first hand look at new voting machines and a home improvement class at the library are the highlights of events happening today.
- Town of Brookhaven residents can get a first hand look at the new voting machines tonight, 6:30 p.m. at Brookhaven Town Hall, One Independence Hill in Farmingdale. Representatives from the Suffolk County Board of Elections will help you become familiar with the new voting machine, show voters how to use it and answer any questions.
- At the Bayport-Blue Point Public Library: Gary Dymski, former Homer Work columnist for Newsday, will host The 5P's of Successful Home Improvement, beginning at 7 p.m. The seminar is designed for the local do-it-yourselfer looking to complete some small projects or a homeowner gearing up for a major renovation.
- In high school sports, the boys varsity soccer team is at home to take on Elwood/John Glenn. The first whistle will blow at 4:30 p.m. Bayport-Blue Point is looking to bounce back from its 4-0 loss to Sayville on Saturday.
- Also at the high school, the girls varsity tennis team will host Longwood, with the first serve scheduled for 4 p.m. The team is looking to regain its winning ways following a 5-2 defeat to Bay Shore this past Thursday. 40.74254
