Car Drives Into Mattress Store, No Serious Injuries Reported

While there were a few scary moments, the wild ride through a Mattress Firm store eventually had a "soft" landing.

HARTSDALE, NY — An out-of-control car plowed through a Hartsdale mattress store this morning, but remarkably, there were no serious injuries reported.

Just after 8:30 a.m., Hartsdale firefighters were called to the scene of a car into a shop on South Central Avenue.

The car was 50 feet into the store with the front driver's side hanging over the basement stairwell, according to fire officials who first arrived on the scene. Hartsdale Fire Department and Greenburgh Fire Department crews quickly determined that the occupants of the car were not hurt.

The occupants were told to remain in the car while it was stabilized with a grip-hoist. The occupants were quickly removed, evaluated, and refused medical attention, according to fire officials.

Fire crews stuck around to help the tow truck remove the car from the store.
