Police: Drunk Driver Takes Herself To Scarsdale Police Station

It may not have been the best idea. A 32-year-old Stamford, Conn., woman delivered herself right to police after a night of drinking and driving, according to Scarsdale police.
At 3:40 a.m. Sunday, a officer noticed a 2002 Volkswagen Beetle driving into the police lot the wrong way.
"When I spoke to the vehicle operator, I detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath," the police officer stated in his report.

The driver had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and trouble standing, the SPD report stated.
Police conducted a field sobriety test and alco-sensor breathalyzer test, which indicated the presence of alcohol, the report stated.

Police arrested the driver on two misdemeanor charges and one infraction: driving the wrong direction on a one-way street; driving while intoxicated (first offense); and operating a motor vehicle with .08 percent alcohol, (first offense.)
The driver told SPD that she had been drinking at The Brazen Fox in White Plains and entered the police parking lot to "sleep it off."
Police administered a datamaster test, determining her blood alcohol content to be .16 percent.
Police impounded the vehicle and at 6:30 a.m, released the driver on personal recognizance. She was issued a summons and scheduled to appear in Scarsdale Village Justice Court on August 8.
