Greenburgh Town Board celebrates Puerto Rican and our Puerto Rican community
link to Board meeting/ceremony below
Greenburgh is proud of our large Puerto Rican community. The Town Board partnered with the White Plains Puerto Rican Cultural Foundation and celebrated our Puerto Rican residents, their culture at our Greenburgh Town Board meeting on Monday evening.
The ceremony was fantastic. You can watch the performances, music and presentations by clicking onto the link below. White Plains Councilwoman-elect Evelyn Alicea Santiago introduced Girl Scout Troop 2491. Grisselle Feliciano, a Greenburgh resident, presented two members of Girl Scout Troop 2491 Gabriela Sanchez and Abigail Barillas who treated us to a special performance. Stephanie Lora spoke about the honoree of the night – Kathleen Holmes whose involvement with the community and school district is appreciated. And there was a beautiful musical performance by Carlos Jimenez and his Mambo Trio. Lots of positive energy at the beginning of the Greenburgh Town Board meeting. This was the first item on the agenda after the Pledge of Allegiance and some moments of silence. The ceremony started a few minutes after the Puerto Rican flag raising ceremony.
