She said the task of completing the Gold Award proved to be challenging, but β€œultimately the effort was very rewarding in providing me with the opportunity and honor to participate with other Gold Award recipients” in the panel discussion.

Jones plans to pursue a career in the medical field when she starts college in the fall and also plans to continue the spirit of giving.

Maria Carozza-McCaffrey, principal of Maria Regina High School, said Jones has demonstrated top-notch leadership skills through numerous experience, both at the high school and beyond.

β€œShe is the prime example of a student who lives out our mission of encouraging compassionate leadership by setting her mind to do something beneficial for others and completing the task with grace and determination,” she said.
