• Two-alarm fire at Bedford kennel prompts dog rescue effort (lohud.com) — Scarsdale residents should know that the Scarsdale EMS Rehab Unit helped respond to a serious two-alarm fire at Northwind Kennels in Bedford, where about 20 dogs were rescued and one firefighter was injured. Multiple Westchester fire departments and EMS agencies battled the blaze for hours in freezing conditions, and investigators are now probing a possible laundry-room origin.
