Scarsdale Band Battling For Title At Playland Next Week
The Battle of the Bands is set for July 20 at Playland Park in Rye. Bloodline from Scarsdale is playing in the competition.

Several fresh, young bands from across Westchester, including one from Scarsdale, are jamming out at the upcoming Battle of the Bands competition next week at
Six bands, including Scarsdale's own Bloodline, will play during the ninth annual event at Playland Park in Rye on Friday, July 20 at 6:00 p.m. The event is taking place at the Music Tower Theater. (The rain date is Friday, July 27.)
The battle is presented by the Westchester County Parks, Friends of Westchester County Parks, and radio station 107.1 The Peak.

According to an announcement from the Westchester County Parks Department, the bands' members are all ages 15 to 20-years-old and "were selected as the cream of the crop out of more than 20 entries."
Music experts, including those from the "local and professional music industry," will be judging the acts on July 20, according to the announcement.

The band that claims the first prize will take home a trophy and major bragging rights.
This year's contest participants are:
- Bloodline (Scarsdale, NY)
- Jumpstart Tomorrow (North Babylon, NY)
- Rockin’ One Way (Mahopac, NY)
- Room 237 (Rye, NY)
- Rye & St. Patrick’s (Rye, NY)
- Working Disorder (New City NY)
Parking is $5 the day of the event, and audience members must pay regular price admission fees at the entrance. The Friday night fireworks display starts at 9:15 p.m.
