Scarsdale Board of Ed Meeting Agenda: Jan. 7

After a winter break, the Scarsdale Board of Education is meeting once again. Tonight's 8:00 p.m. meeting is being held at Scarsdale High School.

The agenda for tonight's meeting includes:

• Part two of "Building Needs for the Future," an education report, presented by Peter Gisolfi of Peter Gisolfi Associates, District Architects 
• Acceptance of several gifts for the school district

According to the published agenda for tonight's board meeting, the gifts include:

• $24,882 to Scarsdale Middle School to be used for the items listed in the 12/21/12 letter from the Middle School PTA President as part of the PTA’s “One Time Gift” (Donor: Scarsdale Middle School PTA)
• $5,000 from the Middle School PTA from the PTA’s general fund to be contributed to the Board’s gift-pool account. (Donor:  Scarsdale Middle School PTA)
• $7,147 to Scarsdale Middle School to purchase the following gifts:

1. One LCD panel and mounting panel (library) $978.00
2. Two Yamaha 4-valve euphoniums- $3,465.00
3. Video camera, battery, 2 SD cards: $2,704.00       

($3,480.00 of this gift comes from 2011-12 unspent gift funds and $3,667.00 from the 2012-13 school year allotment of $10,000.00.) (Donor: Scarsdale Middle School PTA)

• One string bass musical instrument with stand and two bows to the District for use by the music department; estimated value: $2,500.00. (Donor: Therese Rabieh, 192 Fox Meadow Road)
