Scarsdale Officer Who Let Fatal Hit-Run Driver Go Is Fired
Authorities said the rookie officer did not detain a man who was involved in a traffic accident but had an outstanding arrest warrant.
SCARSDALE, NY — A rookie police officer on the Scarsdale police force was fired for letting a motorist off after a minor traffic accident that preceded the death of a pedestrian in Greenburgh.
The Scarsdale village trustees approved a resolution that terminated the employment of Officer Ainsley Brown, though the document did not name the officer, the Journal News reported.
On Aug. 26, Brown failed to find that Antonio Robles-Sanchez, who was involved in a traffic accident, had an active warrant for drug possession.

Robles-Sanchez went on that same day, authorities said, to strike and kill Stephanie Kavourias, a prominent Greenburgh leader and former town employee, on East Hartsdale Avenue. Police said he left the scene without stopping.
