Scarsdale Police Log: An Arrest And Attempted Burglary

Attempted Burglary On Burgess Road

responded to a report of an attempted burglary on Burgess Road on June 21. Police responded to the home after a report of a "prowler on location" by the homeowner, according to the SPD report.

The resident told SPD that he saw two unknown males "tugging on the exterior door," after he had just arrived home. According to the report, the resident turned on the light, went to the kitchen door and spotted two hooded males running toward Post Road. The Scarsdale resident "noticed that the door handle from that specific door was laying on the floor," according to the report.

SPD took photos of the fingerprints on the kitchen door and canvassed the home and surrounding area. Police classified the incident at an attempted burglary and are investigating.

Warrant Arrest

SPD arrested a Scarsdale man on a warrant. The original warrant was for a speeding violation, an infraction, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, a misdemeanor. He was released on $100 cash bail.
