Scarsdale Police Log: Vandals Strike Cars, Lights, Stop Signs

Swiped Stop Sign
Vandals struck a car parked in a Catherine Road driveway over night on July 29. According to a SPD report, the owner's vehicle sustained scratches to the roof. The owner said a stop sign was placed on top of the Toyota Avalon. The stop sign was swiped from the corner of Catherine Road and Kelwynne Road, according to the SPD report. Police said it appears to be a youth-related incident.
Light Fixture Damaged

A Penn Boulevard homeowner reported to Scarsdale Police that an unknown person damaged an exterior light fixture during the overnight hours of July 30. According to a SPD report, the vandals caused $1,000 in damages. The alleged vandal removed a curb stone to knock over the light fixture, according the police report.
Broken Van Window At Girl Scout House

Police responded to the Girl Scout House on Wayside Lane July 27 after responding to noise coming from the area. According to the police report, police noticed a van in the parking lot had a broken window. No other vehicles in the area were damaged.
Egging On Nelson Road
A Nelson Road resident had two of his vehicles egged overnight on July 26/27. According to the police report, the vehicles were parked in the driveway. No damage was sustained.
