Scarsdale Superintendent Speaks Out About Missing Student

Superintendent Michale McGill issued a statement on Tyler Madoff today.

Two communities are coming together to support the White Plains family of missing student

, who was swept into the sea by a wave in Honolulu on July 4, was going into his junior year at Scarsdale High School, according to Vicki Presser, school district spokeswoman.

Today, Dr. Michael McGill, Superintendent of Scarsdale Public Schools, released a statement to the public, "on behalf of the Scarsdale Public Schools community."

"We're deeply concerned for Tyler, and our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this difficult time," McGill said.

"As more information becomes available, the schools will do whatever we can to support the Madoffs and the rest of the school community," he said.

Madoff's mother is Heathcote Elementary School Teacher-In-Charge Marianne Madoff, according to Presser.
