The Village of Scarsdale is still under a water emergency. Officials made the declaration Saturday evening. The situation was caused by a double water pump failure at the village’s main water pumping station. Village officials say the water restrictions apply to all Scarsdale water users.
All outside use of water and unnecessary water use is prohibited until further notice. Officials are asking people to please turn off all of their automatic sprinkler systems, refrain from washing vehicles and stop filling swimming pools.
Village water department technicians say they are working on the pumps throughout the weekend, and are doing everything possible to restart the pumps. The Village says it will advise the public when repairs are made and the water emergency is lifted.
