Tyler Madoff's Parents Speak Out On TODAY Show

On NBC's TODAY Show this morning, the parents of the White Plains teen on July 4, aired their feelings and frustrations over the tragedy.

In the Wednesday morning live interview, parents Michael and Marianne Madoff told the TODAY Show that they are holding tour operator Bold Earth Teen Adventure responsible for the tragic incident that took their 15-year-old son,

According to TODAY, the parents received two differing stories from the tour operator when they arrived in Hawaii.

During the July 4 incident, both Tyler Madoff and another teen, Matthew Alzate of Florida, were both swept out to sea. But fortunately, Alzate survived, according to TODAY.

In this morning's live interview, the Madoffs told TODAY that the tour company did not offer any sympathy.

"'They forgot to say they were sorry,” Michael told TODAY in the interview. "'They never expressed their condolences.'"

The Madoffs also said the company did not call the family until 2:00 a.m. July 5, the morning after the tragedy occurred.

“'When eventually we pieced it together, we realized that in fact he had been missing for five and a half hours,'" mother Marianne told TODAY.

The family said they feel the tour guide was negligent, using "'poor judgment,'" due to the high surf advisories in place that day.
