Westchester Grand Jury Hands Down Indictment In Fatal Hit-And-Run
The 42-year-old Brooklyn man was under the influence of drugs when he struck and killed a Greenburgh 65-year-old woman, police say.
HARTSDALE, NY — The driver accused in a fatal hit-and-run crash will face justice on felony charges, including vehicular manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide
Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah announced on Thursdsay that the Brooklyn man was indicted for the August 2023 hit-and-run that killed 65-year-old Hartsdale resident Stephanie Kavourias.
"The defendant’s alleged behavior took the life of a cherished member of the Greenburgh community," Rocah said in a statement announcing the indictment. "We will now seek to hold this defendant accountable for his actions in this senseless tragedy. Our hearts remain with family, friends and colleagues of Ms. Kavourias."

A Westchester County Grand Jury indicted Antonio Robles-Sanchez for felony vehicular manslaughter in the second degree, felony leaving the scene of an incident without reporting and felony criminally negligent homicide. He also faces driving while ability impaired by drugs and three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
The 42-year-old was arraigned in Westchester County Court, and bail remains set at $500,000 cash, $750,000 bond and $1 million partially secured bond. Robles-Sanchez's next court date is Feb. 29.

Just after 11:14 a.m. on Aug. 26, 2023, Robles-Sanchez is accused of, while under the influence of drugs, driving his Dodge Ram truck into Kavourias as she was crossing the intersection of Rockledge Road and E. Hartsdale Avenue, and fleeing the scene. Kavourias was taken to White Plains Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Robles-Sanchez is also charged with possessing cocaine.
The Greenburgh Police Department found and arrested Robles-Sanchez in White Plains shortly after the hit-and-run. White Plains police assisted with the investigation.
