- A bald eagle that flew into the side of a truck on Sunrise Highway had to be euthanized due to its severe injuries. The tragedy happened on Thursday on exit 58 in Shirley. A passing motorist called 911. The federally protected species was transported to Animals in Need of Rescue, but the wildlife rehabilitation group said the bird was too far gone to save.(Patch)
