  1. Andrew Frey, 57, of Coram, was charged with sex trafficking and kidnapping on Sept. 20 after trying to kidnap two women. One of Frey's alleged attempted kidnappings was in Mastic. Victims reported being threatened with a knife after refusing to follow him to remote locations. Police searched his vehicle and found handcuffs, knives and ropes. If convicted, he may face 15 years of imprisonment. (Patch)
  2. Save the date for the Fall Festival hosted on October 23 at the Legion Field in Mastic Beach. The day will be filled with outdoor fun, food, music, pumpkins and more! Tickets are $5 per person. The fun starts at 1 p.m. at 165 Washington Ave, Mastic Beach. (Patch Events)
