An explosion heard off the South Shore of LI Sunday is being investigated. A teenager was found with a knife, gun and ammunition in his car. And a giant carved statue is based on a Long Island Native American legend.

2. News 12 Long Island reports that a Central Islip teenager is facing charges after a handgun and ammunition was found in his car. Police pulled over a Toyota on Hempstead Turnpike with no headlights and found a knife in the cup holder, a handgun and 30 rounds of ammunition. Adams Banton, 19, is charged with criminal possession. 3. An explosion heard off the South Shore of Long Island on Sunday confused many. Police investigated Fox Island in the Great South Bay following reports of a loud noise at around 11 a.m. where a plume of smoke was seen. (News 12)
