- The Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge invites all to its free seminar about "how our bright nights cause problems for animals and us." The discussion starts at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 13 at 340 Smith R0ad in Shirley. (Shirley CofC)
- The 4th “Full Moon Halloween Dance” kicks off on Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. The party will be held at the VFW at 437 Main St. in Center Moriches. Tickets are $50 per person and include dinner, dessert and drinks. DJ Stingray Entertainment will play the music. (Mastic CofC)
- Nearby News: The first Hispanic Cultural Parade in Patchogue was postponed to Oct. 23 at noon on Main Street. The event was scheduled for October 2 on Main Street but had to be canceled due to the weather conditions on Long Island over the weekend. (Greater Long Island)
- A woman died after a 2015 Audi A4Veteran Highway hit her 2001 Chevrolet Impala. The Impala was about to turn left on Suffolk Avenue at the moment of the accident on Friday night, just after 7 p.m. (Patchogue Patch)
