  1. Home Church in Mastic Beach is hosting its "Love Day" community event on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The free event features haircuts, food, a nail salon, bounce houses, and children's crafts. The event will be held at 298 Neighborhood Road in Mastic Beach. (Home Church)
  2. The Town of Brookhaven announced the Plastic and Metal Recycling Day on Wednesday, Aug. 31. No glass or plastic bags are allowed. The town asks all to place the items inside of the bin directly. Visit our Recycling Web page for more information. (Brookhaven)
