- Donate your old Halloween costume to the MMS Community Library and get a new one! The Halloween costume swap is set for Saturday, Oct 15, at noon. For those who don't want to swap, the donation of your old costume is much appreciated. (Patch Events)
- Attention to voting deadlines in October. For those registering to vote online, via mail, or in person, the deadline is Friday, Oct. 14. Ballots can be requested by mail until Monday, Oct. 24. Early voting starts on Oct. 29, to Nov. 6. To register online, visit: New York online voter registration. (LI News 12)
- The Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge in Shirley is hosting a beekeeping seminar. Three kinds of honeybees and their life will be discussed on Sept. 27 at 3 p.m. All ages are welcome. (FWS)
- Nearby Events: A Paws Walk will be hosted at Patchogue Shorefront Park to benefit Long Island Cares and Baxter's Pet Pantry. Bring your four-legged family member/friend to walk in support of a good cause on Oct. 1 at 8 a.m. Tickets are $20. For those who want to participate in the raffle, bring a donation of dog food.
