  1. A plan to replace the Smith Point Bridge is on the horizon. Over $ 100 million granted by the Federal Highway Administration will be invested in the high-level new bridge. Construction is expected to start in the spring of 2024. (Tri Hamlet News)
  2. The registrations are open for all who want to participate in the Smith Point Annual Bridge 5K run on Sept. 10. Refreshments will be served at the event. More information can be found (Elite Feats)
  3. Police are searching for a driver involved in a hit-and-run on Sunrise Highway. The incident happened on Thursday. A pedestrian was injured eastbound near exit 50 at 9:30 p.m. (News 12 Long Island)
  4. Town of Brookhaven is now participating in the New York State Paint Stewardship Program. Town Supervisor, Ed Romaine, announced it after a visit to the Town of Brookhaven Landfill. The program promotes the proper disposal of paints that can harm the environment. (TBR News Media)
