2. The summer is winding down and school starts soon! MMS Community Library will host a Back to School Locker Decor at the Mastic Recreation Center on Friday, Sept. 2 at 4:30 p.m. Ms. Hillary will welcome kids in grades 4-7. (MMSCL)
3. On Aug. 27 marks a year since the death of Long Islander Gabby Petito, and her father, Joseph Petito, asks the community to light a candle in her memory and honor those victims of domestic violence. Since Petito's death, the family has been helping others to escape abusive relationships through a foundation created in her memory. (Patch)
