Here are the top three stories today in Shirley-Mastic:
- A shooting occurred on Sunday night on the front porch of the candidate. U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin's house. According to a press release, Zeldin's twin daughters were home when they heard gunshots outside the house and called 911. During the incident, Zeldin and his wife, Diana, attended a Columbus Day parade in the Bronx. (Patch)
- Long Island officer injured by a drunk driver will lead the Shirley Christmas Parade. Officer Timothy Thrane nearly died during the accident in November 2021. The parade is hosted by the Shirley/Mastic Chamber of Commerce and is one of the largest ones on Long Island, starting at the South Port Shopping Center and marching down to Mastic Road. - Long Islanders business owners are blasting sales using TikTok as a marketing tool. Ivory & Main, the first plus-size bridal boutique on the Island, is one of the stores boosting sales by uploading videos on social media with over 3.7 million views. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
