Smith Point Motel Goes Aflame

SHIRLEY, NY — A Shirley motel went aflame on Monday afternoon, damaging the business's office.

Suffolk County police received a call about a fire at about 2:40 p.m. at Smith Point Motel, located at 165 William Floyd Pkwy.

A representative for the motel told Patch that although the office went aflame it was a different building from guest rooms. The fire did not affect guest rooms and no one was injured, they said.

Employees moved the offices to another room, they said.
