2 Women Trick St. James King Kullen Employee, Steal Cash: Police

The women stole money while tricking an employee they asked to make change for them, police say.

ST. JAMES, NY β€” Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help finding the two women who, police said, stole from a St. James store.

Two women asked an employee of King Kullen, at 472 Lake Avenue, to make change for $300 around 4:15 p.m. Aug. 13, police said. As the employee was making the change, the women asked the employee to change the denominations and during that time, the women took $160 from the money, police said. The women then asked the employee to return the original $300, police said. The women are wanted for petty larceny.

Police ask anyone with information to reach Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip via phone call at 1-800-220-TIPS, using a mobile app which can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play by searching P3 Tips, or online at www.P3Tips.com. A cash reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
