'Assassins' Kicks-Off Saturday at Performing Arts Center
First performance of the controversial musical is set for Saturday at 8 p.m.

A production of the controversial musical by Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman Assassins is set to hit the stage at the Smithtown Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday.
The musical will kick-off Saturday and run until Nov. 6. There will be 16 performances total.
According to a BroadwayWorld.com report, the musical, which was first performed on 1991 off-broadway, showcases the idea of the "American dream" through the eyes of 11 people who have tried β and some who have been successful β in killing the President of the United States.
