Don't Miss: Ultimate Frisbee Toss at Smithtown East

It’s a special game of Frisbee for three very special causes that is being hosted Friday afternoon by the Smithtown Wrestling Club at Smithtown East.

At 2 p.m., the group will take to the fields for the second annual Smithtown Ultimate Tournament for Charity in an effort to raise funds for three local charities; the Katie Farrell Fund, ReesSpecht and the Smithtown’s Children Foundation.

It is the disc, in Ultimate Frisbee, that makes the game unique. The disc can curve, fly straight, hover in mid-air, or drop out of the sky, depending on the skill level of the player.

According to organizer Morgan Mansfield, People can register in teams of six, with a maximum of seven. Those interested should email Mansfield at mmansfield2013@gmail.comΒ with the names of their players, years of experience playing ultimate Frisbee, and in the subject write, SmithtownΒ UltimateΒ Frisbee Tournament for Charity. Players need to bring $5 each on the day of the tournament to play

β€œPeople can contribute by coming out to watch the event and making donations," said Mansfield. Β "We have donations ofΒ food from Del Fuego and New York Stuffed Cone Company.:
