Firefighter Injured in Landing Avenue Fire
Firefighter brought to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center.
One firefighter from the Smithtown Fire Department was injured in a fall Friday afternoon while fighting a garage fire on Landing Avenue.
The unnamed firefighter was taken to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center.
According to the Smithtown Fire Department, the call for the garage fire came in at 11:43 a.m. for the home at the corner of Landing Avenue and Cake Walk Terrace. The fire department said the cause of the fire was electric, and smoke filled both the attic and the home but the fire was contained to the garage.

The fire department said no residents of the home were injured, and the garage and a Cadillac received water damage.
