Co-owner of Smithtown Hot Yoga Debbie Burack said a class a day is not required and that completing the challenge is not the only way to donate to the coalition through the studio.

“It’s 30 classes in 30 days, or if they have to miss a class they can actually make up a class, if they wanted to take a double because they missed one day,” she said. “If people want to raise money on behalf of the charity if they don’t feel they can do the 30 days they are welcome to do that as well.”

John McFeely, co-owner of the studio and instructor, said he’d like to see students have classes sponsored.

"We also encourage participants to sign up sponsors on their own, even $1 for every class attended would help the cause immensely,” he said via email statement.

For the challenge, the monthly unlimited package is reduced 20-percent off of the regular package price of $175.

There will be more classes scheduled throughout the 30-day challenge and class times can be found at bikramyogasmithtown.net.
