Man Committed Lewd Act In Front Of Woman, Her Daughter: Suffolk Police

NESCONSET, NY — A man accused of masturbating in his car in front of a mother and her young daughter earlier this week has been arrested, Suffolk police said.

Jacob Levy, 27, of Nesconset, was driving a sky blue 2020 Honda Civic with black rims and was headed west on Route 347 when he pulled next to a vehicle driven by a woman whose 6-year-old daughter was a passenger at the intersection of Gibbs Pond Road, police said. Levy started masturbating in front of them around 3 p.m. Monday, police said. He was naked from the waist down, police said.

The mother exchanged words with the man, took down his license plate number and called police, the department said. The man drove away in the Civic, turning right on Southern Boulevard heading northbound, police said.

Levy was arrested around 5 p.m. Wednesday, police said. He was charged with first-degree public lewdness, public lewdness, and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.

"Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident, or who believes they may be a victim of Levy, to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8451," the department said.
